About the Role
This dynamic role combines the skills of a procurement specialist with the creative support of a design assistant. You'll play a vital role in bringing high-end interior design projects to life by efficiently sourcing materials and assisting the design team. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for both design and procurement. This position also requires you to be available to work full-time (32-40 hours per week) in our home office in Gainesville, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement:
Research and identify potential vendors for a variety of materials
Furniture (custom and off-the-shelf)
Fabrics
Lighting
Rugs
Accessories
Art
Finishes (e.g., tile, stone, wood)
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with vendors.
Track vendor performance and resolve any issues that may arise.
Design Assistance:
Assist designers with various tasks, such as:
Creating and maintaining project documentation (mood boards, presentations, specifications)
Preparing material samples and finish boards
Conducting site visits and documenting existing conditions
Researching design trends and inspiration
Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
Project Management Support:
Assist with the development and maintenance of project budgets and schedules.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery to the project site.
Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Quality Control:
Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Address any discrepancies or damages with vendors.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Art History or a related field preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a combination of procurement, interior design, or a related field.
Availability: Full-time in office (32-40 hours per week)
Skills:
Proven ability to negotiate and build strong vendor relationships.
Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interest in interior design and a passion for creating beautiful spaces.
